Project Overview
The Product: I work closely with UX researchers to translate insights into visually compelling artifacts and useful ideation tools. Depending on the needs of the project, these artifacts take form in journey maps, personas, and/or storyboards.
The Problem: How do we visualize the rich and dense research findings into a tangible piece of documentation that can be used by the team to easily identify user needs, pain points, bright spots, and areas of opportunity?
Team: UX designer, UX researcher
Responsibilities: Assist with UX research, visually translate insights, present designs to key stakeholders.
Journey Map
The maps above were created in Figma using components to easily update elements. The maps feature a branded color scheme and custom illustrations. I created these maps from the user research that was conducted. The documentation of research started in excel format. I extracted that information and visualized it in a way that maintained a rich level of detail while also organizing the information in a digestible way. I carefully charted the user’s emotions by creating a custom emotion map that changes color and undulates. I used my UI skills to produce these deliverables that are referenced often by the team when ideating on ways to improve their UX.
Process Map
The process map above was created in Figma using components to easily update elements. I created this map alongside UX researchers who provided me with information in a MURAL board format. I took that research and applied visual coding to insights to tell the narrative of the user process. This map provides a visual story of how the user moves through their process while highlighting key pain points at each step.
User Personas
The persona templates above were created in Google Slides. I created these templates with a custom design and color scheme. I used color and illustrations to differentiate the personas. The layout remains consistent for continuity. These slides can be easily populated with research information and manipulated for future work.
